At least 783 million people around the world lack access to clean drinking water, and the lack of clean drinking water leads to 2.2 million deaths each year. By partnering with Living Water International (LWI), which drills wells to provide clean drinking water to the world’s poorest communities, Triumph is able to support one of its philanthropic visions – establishing viable communities.
On Sunday, after months of preparation, the 12 members of our Triumph team arrived in a village outside of Acajutla, El Salvador and joined with LWI to build a water well for the village. The well will provide safe, sustainable drinking water and provide the team an opportunity to conduct hygiene education for those in the village.
Today, the team started the week-long project that awaits them. Connecting with the children of the village, preparing for the drilling of the well, and even starting to drill the well were some of the day’s activities. Even with the diversity of daily events, each team member has a similar vision – establishing a viable community.
We are excited to keep you posted with updates from the Triumph team!
