Taking Dead Aim: Day Two in El Salvador

April 29, 2015

Inspired by the success of the first day, Triumph’s El Salvador team went straight to work in the village of Santa Rosa on Tuesday.

The drilling team, consisting of Carrie, Ruth, Deana, Estevan, Kevin, Kurt and Todd, experienced a minor setback in the afternoon as they struggled to reach their drilling target. The members of the team dug deep into their own resolve, took dead aim at their goal, and pushed through. While they ended up staying several hours later than planned, they reached their daily target.

Clarie, Terri, Tami, and Lisa grew closer to the women and children of the village, teaching hygiene lessons and doing crafts. “Marcella, our Living Water hygiene coordinator, gave each of us beads to craft with small groups of ladies and children,” said Lisa. “Very few of us speak Spanish so the language barrier made it interesting! Despite obstacles, we had a great time!”

At the end of the day, exhausted and even muddier than the day before, the prospects of reaching clean water on Wednesday lifted the spirts of the team.
